Hello,
I'm Rosalynn Villaescusa.
I am based out of Martinsville, Virginia. As a watercolor artist, I specialize in custom
pet portraits. I'm a wife and mom of two kids and two dogs. I juggle my vibrant family life with a deep passion for art. I graduated from North Carolina State University in 2016 with a BA in Visual Art Studies. It was there I developed a strong foundation in both fine art and scientific illustration. In addition to my pet portraits, I enjoy creating delicate floral paintings- combining my love of nature with a keen eye for detail. My artwork has won a first place drawing award in the show Expressions with Piedmont Arts (2021). My work is celebrated for its warmth, precision, and the gentle elegance that watercolor uniquely allows.
From an early age, the Biblical parable of the talents captivated me. I always imagined the “talents” not as money, but as the gifts and abilities God places in our hands. Do we nurture them? Do we let them grow? Or do we bury them in fear?
I can still picture myself at 24 years old, sitting in a closet, crying at 2 in the morning. I was about to graduate from NCSU with a degree in Visual Art Studies, soon to be married, and preparing to move to Virginia. I remember sobbing—truly sobbing—as I begged God to show me whether I was making the right choices. An art degree… mountains of student loan debt… a future that felt so uncertain.
Fast forward to 2025: my life is overflowing with blessings—a loving, supportive husband and two precious little girls. But the student loan debt? Still there. A weight that has followed me for years.
And yet… there is finally a glimmer of hope.
As my pet portrait requests continue to grow, I’m starting to see a path forward. A way to do what I love. A way to chip away at the debt. A way to multiply the talents God gave me. I have seen His hand in this journey over and over again, and I’m excited—truly excited—to see where He leads next.
